Poultry Production Manager
Job Title Senior Production Manager
Division Poultry – Processing Plant –Production
Core Purpose of Job
To manage self directing multifunctional teams to efficiently process poultry products to meet internal customer order requirements within management performance parameters ensuring adherence to defined Product Specifications Quality amp Safety Standards
To ensure that all poultry products are packed to fulfil internal customer service requirements whilst meeting agreed quality specifications and cost parameters and ensuring that all necessary resources are available and utilised in a safe and efficient manner.
Areas of Responsibility
Quality Optimise product quality ensuring that products meet required specifications.
Service Maximise service to internal customers right product and right time at the right specification
Cost Optimise product yield amp wastage and plant utilization to maximise the contribution to profitably of the nbspnbspnbspnbspoperation.
Health amp Safety Provide all necessary on the job training to staff to ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Man Planning Direct Manage and control required manpower amp resources efficiently to achieve production targets amp motivate the work forces to meet future business challenges.
Staff development Identify plan and implement requisite training in order to ensure continued development of all team members ensuring that an adequately maintained skills inventory is in place.
Responsibilities
Develop the understanding of team concepts while improving focus on tasks and results.
Motivate facilitate support and direct Team Leaders to achieve and advance further.
Review Team performance with Team Managers evaluating results and directing team for improvements.
Coordinate and liaise with other management.
Conduct meetings and reviews with Team Manager in order to improve margin and minimise overhead costs
Conduct internal audits to ensure GMP is maintainedimproved amp that all actions comply with Quality System.
Develop Management Information Systems to achieve accurate relevant and timely information.
Highlighting maintenance requests and Suggest improvements.
Ensure all necessary manpower resources are available to achieve objectives.
Ensure that all budgetary controls are followed.
Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Develop onthejob training through the regular training cycle.
Continuously compare and review performance of the Team.
Recommend process modification to improve quality and service at a reduced cost.
Deputise as duty manager or production manager shift rotation basis.
